ACTIVATED CARBON

Activated Carbon Manufacturer – Carbon Direct

Activated carbon is a carbonaceous material characterized by a well developed pore structure, and a very large internal surface area and pore volume. These characteristics provide activated carbon with strong adsorptive properties which are exploited in liquid- and gas-phase applications. Carbon Direct is an activated carbon manufacturer of over 100 varieties of activated carbon products in the following applications and industries:

DRINKING WATER

The virgin activated carbon is produced from selected coal and coconut shell. The ideal is to remove organic contaminants from water. The low level of impurities, special on heavy metals, make them cleaner than most other carbon. They are NSF approved. AG-1100AWC, AG-1000C, AG-1100C

BEVERAGES (INCL. JUICE, WINE & BEER)
The virgin activated carbon is produced from selected coal, wood, and coconut shell. The ideal is to remove the taste and decolorize the compound.
AG-900W, AG-1100AWC, AG-1100C, AGU-900, PHS
AQUARIUM
The virgin activated carbon is produced from selected bituminous coal. The ideal is to adsorb the certain particle compound and decolorize. AGU-900
MUNICIPAL WATER TREATMENT
The virgin activated carbon is produced from selected coal and coconut shell. It is ideal to remove the taste, odor, and color compounds. It is NSF approved. AG-900, AG-1100C, AGU-900, REG-900
GROUNDWATER
Virgin and reactivated carbon are ideal for removal of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC), as well as toxic pesticide and herbicide that leach into ground and surface water.
AG-900, REG-900, VG-60
POU/POE
Municipal water treatment plants normally add free chlorine to the water before it enters the distribution system. It may react with organic compounds to present an unpleasant taste and odor. Activated carbon is used to lower the compounds below the standard.
AG-900, REG-900, AG-900W, AG-1000W, AG-1000C, AG-1100C, AG-1100AWC, CNS
AIR & GAS PURIFICATION
The virgin activated carbon is produced from selected coal and coconut shell. The process of impregnation or catalytic make the carbon more economical for removal on wide range of organic compounds. FLUE GAS TREATMENT (INCL. MERCURY EMISSION)
The disposal of waste is widely undertaken in an incineration plant to recover the calorific value of the waste to provide energy. Flue gas by powder plants and steel mills contain trace concentrations of mercury and dioxins . EPA tightens the environmental limits to the emission of these compounds, and activated carbon is developed for the use of removing mercury and dioxins.   PAC-Mercarb, Pellet Coke
SOLVENT RECOVERY
The virgin activated carbon is produced from selected coal and coconut shell. In the manufacture of volatile solvents, the potential environmental problem and loss of quantity are very risky and extremely high. In the pharmaceutical industry, certain organic solvents are used to extract key intermediates from natural substances or biological cultures. In oil and gas refineries, activated carbon’s adsorb and desorbed character is used on the filter for vacuum, storage, and recovering the vapors. It is ideal for separation and recovery like: Ketone, Alcohol, Tetrahydrofuran, Methylene chloride, Petroleum ether, and Hydrocarbon, etc. VG-70, VG-70C, CNS, VGH-80
SEWAGE ODOR CONTROL
Wet wells and sewage-pumping stations need to be vented to atmosphere. The vapor that is exchanged is contaminated with H2S and mercaptan. They are highly odorous, pungent and extremely objectionable. Carbon Direct supplies activated carbon which is an odor control media. Impregnated carbon is used to remove H2S to the level below the odor threshold value. The patented product (US patent#7,241,430) invented by our factory is a unique catalytic activated carbon, not only with high capacity on adsorption, but also hazard free during the handling and disposal of spent carbon.
